"Poetry is how we make sense of our lives. Poetry in books is the  least of it. Every move we make, every word we say is a poem in its own right.  The closer what gets written down comes to reflecting what we actually do with  our lives, the better it is".
Charles Nolan: "Poetry and Why It Matters"

For Charles, the ideas expressed in his non-fiction writing find their flesh and bones in his poetry. A few samples are included as drop-downs in this section.  Frequently, when trying to make sense of a seemingly complex philosophic or other "overeducated" issue, Charles finds it best to let the poetry lead the way.
