“Meaning” is Not an Option
It’s as essential to human life as air or water. Suicide kills more Americans than murder. 13% of the American population is on antidepressants, which are the second most commonly prescribed drugs in the country. There’s a big black hole we all need to fill. Drugs won’t fill it, alcohol won’t fill it and religion won’t fill it, not any more.
This is the starting point for “The Holy Bluff”, Charles Nolan’s first full length book of non-fiction. The big black hole and how we fill it is the driving idea behind all of his writing – nonfiction, short prose and poetry, as well as his songwriting and performance art.
